Information On Psoriasis Type

Psoriasis is generally thought to be related to industry pollution and the working conditions. Psoriasis generally affects the exposed spot, like forehead, hands, legs, face, back and so on chest. Although psoriasis does not endanger life, but the condition can be very embarrassing and there is no permanent remedy even after long treatment.

Understanding Psoriasis

Psoriasis is characterized by red, scaly patches or flakes of skin. Clinically, there are several types of psoriasis.

	Plaque Psoriasis: Plaque psoriasis is the most common type, appears as raised red and scaly patches and can affect any skin surface but most commonly the elbows, scalp, knees and lower back.
	Guttate Psoriasis: Guttate Psoriasis appears as small spots and patches spread all over the body, seen commonly in children and young adults. This type of psoriasis sometimes occurs after an infection, like flu or throat infection.
	Flexural Psoriasis: This psoriasis type is affecting the skin or body folds like the groins, armpits and under the breast. Infected areas appear as well defined red inflamed patches.
	Pustula Psoriasis: This type appears as small pus spots with surrounding redness and swelling of the skin. This condition may be localized to the palms or soles or generalized affecting large areas of skin often associated with fever. After treatment, more typical forms of red scaly psoriasis patches may appear.
